Laura was born and raised in the middle Georgia area and knew she would be a nurse from a very early age. She graduated from Georgia College and State University and worked as a perinatal nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit for 15 years before starting her career as a midwife. Laura is very proud to have graduated from Frontier Nursing University, one of the first and oldest graduate schools for nurse-midwives in the country. She believes nurse-midwives play a crucial role in helping women have the pregnancy and birth experience they desire as well as helping them transition to their new roles as mothers. Laura has been married to Chuck for 11 years and they own a commercial and Christmas tree farm in Monroe County. They have three rambunctious boys, Jackson, Davis, and Mills. Laura enjoys reading, crafting, spending time with her family, and is an avid runner.
